For those that want to stretch their equity, there are now options for USA financing of Homes in Mexico. Baby Boomers can sell their current homes and place only a portion of the proceeds into their home in Mexico as a down payment. Monthly payments will often be much less than their current payment on their “Raised the Children In” home.

A Pueblo Mágico is a place where “symbolism, legend, history, important events and day-to-day life” have collided to create a unique result. “They are magic in their social and cultural manifestations, with great opportunities for tourism.” This is a good description from Mexico’s tourism agency, which is more than can be said about SECTUR’s website. Some things are the same everywhere. One constant is that government websites are not the most useful.

Our first album of photos from this trip was on the Veracruz area. We started about 10:30am on Fri. April 17,09 and made better time than expected on the excellent highways between Guadalajara and Mexico City and therefore decided to push on to Puebla on day one. Five O'Clock, through Mexico City was a challenge. We had never driven through it before but after about 2 ½ hours, darkness had fallen and we were on the outskirts and our way to Puebla.

Boomers Abroad

BoomersAbroad.com was born in direct response to hundreds of conversations with baby boomers from the USA and Canada who were seeking a new life, and to better understand how they might live abroad, travel abroad, relocate abroad, retire abroad and/or invest abroad. Leading industry experts and many of those who have journeyed ahead will share their personal experiences and knowledge in a great variety of areas.

Boomers Living Abroad

The number of Americans and Canadians living abroad, by today's count approximately 7 million (according to The Washington Post), is twice the population of Chicago and greater than that of 33 U.S. States. A number that has grown steadily over the past decade, and it is expected to more than double within ten years. In the next 20 years, 100 million baby boomers, from the USA and Canada, are going to retire. Five million baby boomers turn age 60 each year, Ten Thousand per day, Eight per minute, and scores of them are purchasing property abroad as vacation homes or investment homes. Naturally, many of them are auditioning these homes for potential primary retirement residences.
