Do not let the media make you miserable. What's your dream?
Foreclosure, by definition, is the legal procedure for satisfying claims against a mortgagor in default who has not redeemed the mortgage; satisfaction may be obtained from the proceeds of a forced sale of the property.

Hello Everyone,
As I read through the personal blogs of those that have chosen to relocate their lives I realize that what I had always dreamed about is more common than I had thought. The lure of a "better life" in a tropical setting seems to be the theme.
Linda & I just returned from a 10 day drive from Ajijic, along the north shore of Lake Chapala to LaBarca, then onto the hwy. 15 Cota (Toll) road to Mexico City, then on to Puebla. A great city where we spent 3 days, then a short driving day to Veracruz for another 3 days.

The 32 million dollars that "investors" lost in the Trump Towers scam is but another example of a U.S. marketing team with a "credible name" ripping off fellow citizens in Mexico. I use the term "investor" in quotes because many of the victims were investor-speculators. The "flipping" of condos, held with large deposits during "presale", became extremely popular and highly profitable, in the Baja boom days - 2002 to 2007. During construction, condos would often triple in value before completion. The same speculator motivation, in the overvalued U.S. real estate and stock markets, made Baja an attractive alternative.

Expat: Marcia Hass dedicated to: Animal rescue.
Originally from: Plentywood and Missoula, Montana.
Lives in: Six kilometers from Tepoztlán, Morelos.
Living in Mexico: Since June 2006.
Why did you move to Mexico?
My concept of an ideal life, once retired, was to live at least part of the year in some Latin American country. In 1994, long-time friends invited me to their house outside Tepoztlán. I found the climate to be mild, not buggy, and above all, easy on my arthritic body. There were lots of trails to hike, and varied flora and fauna given Morelos' many microclimates.

This could be us in the future or Now ?
God grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway, the good fortune to run into the ones I do, and the eyesight to tell the difference. Now that I'm 'older' (but refuse to grow up), here's what I've discovered:|

The mystery of being able to 1031 Exchange USA property for foreign property and thus avoid paying capital gains tax on profits realized is not quite as old as alchemy but I am amazed how many times I am asked if this can be done.

As I watched, while local villagers danced to the music of a live band, a young woman adjusted her hair over an aqua blue rebozo, and spoke to a friend draped in a vivid purple piece over a yellow blouse and pink skirt. Meanwhile, a young girl pulled a small boy along while carrying a load of belongings in the cobalt-blue shawl over her back.
