The Importance of Mexican Medical Insurance

Posted by Luis Miranda in Untagged

Luis Miranda
altToday, we find all sorts of information on medical tourism for Mexico. Suddenly it has become the "in" thing to have medical procedures done here. But those foreigners who have lived in the country for several years now, have known for a while that medical procedures are just as safe here, as they are in the States, and Canada, but often much cheaper. Even so, no matter how cheap medical costs can be expensive and its best to have some sort of medical insurance costs to live in Mexico budgeted for yourself.

Just as medical procedures themselves, medical insurance costs to live in Mexico are not that high either. First lets establish that Mexico is an independent country, and as such most insurance plans from the United States, or Canada are not valid here, and when you have an emergency, flying off to your native country is often not a viable option.

Colonial Mexico is a fabulous trip to Europe without the dent in your pocket book and without taking out your credit cards. So much of the feeling of European architecture is here in the old colonial centros of the towns like Queretaro, Guanajuato, Puebla, Cuernavaca and of course Mexico City.

Just got back from the Discovery Weekend from Mexico in Puerto Vallarta.  It was great to see that some of the projects I originally saw on a previous trip (Nov. 2007)  that were in the 'trailer & artist rendering' stage are underway and making good progress.

Boomers Abroad

BoomersAbroad.com was born in direct response to hundreds of conversations with baby boomers from the USA and Canada who were seeking a new life, and to better understand how they might live abroad, travel abroad, relocate abroad, retire abroad and/or invest abroad. Leading industry experts and many of those who have journeyed ahead will share their personal experiences and knowledge in a great variety of areas.

Boomers Living Abroad

The number of Americans and Canadians living abroad, by today's count approximately 7 million (according to The Washington Post), is twice the population of Chicago and greater than that of 33 U.S. States. A number that has grown steadily over the past decade, and it is expected to more than double within ten years. In the next 20 years, 100 million baby boomers, from the USA and Canada, are going to retire. Five million baby boomers turn age 60 each year, Ten Thousand per day, Eight per minute, and scores of them are purchasing property abroad as vacation homes or investment homes. Naturally, many of them are auditioning these homes for potential primary retirement residences.
