Retiring in Mexico

When I told my family I was selling everything, quitting my job and retiring in Mexico, they told me I was crazy. They really thought I had developed some kind of breakdown. But I felt clearer, and more oriented than I had ever been in my life.

You see, I had already visited the country several times, and I fell in love with the tranquility, the life and the beauty of Mexico. The only hard part for me, was trying to decide on where I was retiring in Mexico.

There are just so many different locations, with different people, cultures, and climates. I knew that I wanted one of the foreign communities in Mexico, because these had people from all over the world living there, and I also knew that I wanted a temperate climate, one that was not overly warm.
In an expatriate community, you will find a lot of support from others that also live there. There are also lots of different activities, cultural and social events.

there are many areas that are popular for retirement in Mexico offer lots of diversity and interesting life choices. If you love the beach and are looking at retiring in a Mexico beach resort, you might want to look into retiring in Mazatlan, Acapulco, Nayarit, Oaxaca, Cabo San Lucas or even Cancun.
If you are looking for a milder, spring like climate then you might think of retiring in Mexico, to one of the colonial cities, like that of San Miguel de Allende, Lake Chapala, or the city of Oaxaca.
Where ever you decide to go, you wont be making a mistake, and you aren't crazy. There are more than a million expats already here, so come join the fun!For more information come to www.sanmiguelconcierge.com

There has never been a better time than now to retire to Mexico.

We moved here two years ago and love it. I know that the cities and colonial areas of the south have an appeal, but I encourage retirees on fixed incomes to look at Tamaulipas and specifically Ciudad Victoria as a retirement destination. I find this area ideal for two reasons. First this area is still off the tourist path. Most surface travelers get to Ciudad Victoria about noon and just keep going south. Well that's just fine with us. No tourists means lower prices for everything, but especially housing. And second, we are just a few hours by car to the Texas border. This is important for people like me who need to access the VA clinic in McAllen. Also, Victoria is the capital of Tamaulipas and as such has all of the comforts of an upper middle class city. Our cultural and artistic community is very active. We have several upscale restaurants as well as KFC, Pizza Hut, Dominoes, Applebys, and Subway. We also have Walmart SuperCenter and Sam's Club, modern theaters with movies in English, and a very active Mercado.

Now, whatever you do, don't tell anyone about my little piece of paradise. But if the word does get out. refer them to my ebook RETIRE TO MEXICO-20 Questions You Need To Answer, available through www.ebookmall.com

Great pointers. Oaxaca has my attention. I ve been down there a few times. Great colonial city. They had some rough times with the Teacher "protests". How is the downtown these days? There was a great hotel Camino Real, definitely recommend that place. thanks Marina

Boomers Abroad

BoomersAbroad.com was born in direct response to hundreds of conversations with baby boomers from the USA and Canada who were seeking a new life, and to better understand how they might live abroad, travel abroad, relocate abroad, retire abroad and/or invest abroad. Leading industry experts and many of those who have journeyed ahead will share their personal experiences and knowledge in a great variety of areas.

Boomers Living Abroad

The number of Americans and Canadians living abroad, by today's count approximately 7 million (according to The Washington Post), is twice the population of Chicago and greater than that of 33 U.S. States. A number that has grown steadily over the past decade, and it is expected to more than double within ten years. In the next 20 years, 100 million baby boomers, from the USA and Canada, are going to retire. Five million baby boomers turn age 60 each year, Ten Thousand per day, Eight per minute, and scores of them are purchasing property abroad as vacation homes or investment homes. Naturally, many of them are auditioning these homes for potential primary retirement residences.
