How do I pay my bills for my Puerto Vallarta Home?

Posted by Thomas Lloyd in Puerto Vallarta Real Estate , Puerto Vallarta home , Mexico real estate , mexico property

Thomas Lloyd

Typically as part of the closing process on your Puerto Vallarta home, the utilities will be changed over to your name.  If not, ask the previous owner to sign a letter authorizing this action and then register the change with the corresponding utility.  Your electric bill will come every second month, and your telephone and cable TV arrive monthly.

Yucatan Real Estate Benefits from Airport Investment

Posted by Thomas Lloyd in yucatan real estate , Mexico Real Estate , mexico property , living in yucatan

Thomas Lloyd

In order to consolidate the Merida international airport as one of the best in the Mexico real estate region, in June 2010 authorities announced that the Asur, operator of the airport in Merida as well as in Cancun and other locations, will invest 280 million pesos (approx. $22 million U.S.) into upgrading the terminal over the next five years.  For Yucatan real estate buyers, the new investment will mean ongoing comfort for travel to and from home, as well as improved services for tourists, supporting the area’s tourism industry.

Mareazul; The Latest Addition to Playa del Carmen Condos

Posted by Thomas Lloyd in Playa del Carmen Real Estate , playa del carmen property , playa del carmen condos , Mexico Real Estate

Thomas Lloyd

It was indeed a pleasure to be invited to one of the long awaited events in the Playa del Carmen Condos market.  The event was held last Thursday evening in Playa’s newest gated community that will include a brand new Nick Price PGA golf course, that is currently being constructed. It was a very well elegantly planned and larger than expected. There had to be at least 500 people of combined owners, real estate agents and other VIP’s.  Truly a top event for any Mexico real estate project from any region.

Tulum Real Estate update With Community Aldea Zama

Posted by Thomas Lloyd in tulum real estate , Mexico Real Estate , living in Tulum

Thomas Lloyd

The Tulum real estate market is growing as fast as a vine in a jungle.   I went out this past week to see how the Aldea Zama project was progressing.  “PLEASANT SURPRISE”.   Tulum is a small village still.  There are not many options to choose for condos or for homes yet when you review the Mexico real estate market in comparison to this region there are some exciting potential in this southern tropical paradise.  Especially with all the buzz in the past 3 months with the President of Mexico making announcements of the International Airport regarding the nod of approval from the federal offices to proceed in this mega project and investment into this small little Mexican Caribbean village…. the Tulum real estate is showing great appreciation potential.  Look at the progress of this residential community in the film below.

HAVING A PUERTO VALLARTA BEACHFRONT CONDO AND OTHER WAYS TO KEEP COOL IN THE SUMMER

Owning a Puerto Vallarta condo, with the amazing views, and the cool ocean breezes is a very fun way for keeping cool on hot blistering summer days.  Another way to keep your temperature down is to lock all the doors and windows, crank up your air conditioner and chill-out in a catatonic bliss as you dream of being in a Puerto Vallarta beachfront condo.   And let’s face it; on the hottest, most humid afternoons in the “dog days” of August, this can seem like a pretty good idea!  However, this solution is not very frugal or eco-friendly, so here are some other tactics that have worked well for me:

Playa del Carmen Events: The Sacred Maya Journey 2010

Posted by Thomas Lloyd in Playa del Carmen Real Estate , Mexico Real Estate , mexico property , living in Playa del Carmen , live in mexico

Thomas Lloyd

Not everything is about my Playa del Carmen real estate job and I thought I would share this not common event that occurs once a year.  This past weekend marked the 4th year that a magical event has taken place in the Riviera Maya. It is a historical journey back to 500 BC, and is a re-enactment of the sacred pilgrimage of the Mayan culture  to the island of Cuzamil (now known as Cozumel). Today in Playa del Carmen, the journey is accomplished as it was back in the day by handcrafted canoes and the oarsmen, many are brave volunteers, wear similar attire from that time as well.

What is ejido land?

Posted by Thomas Lloyd in Puerto Vallarta Real Estate , Mexico Real Estate , mexico property

Thomas Lloyd

Ejido land is communal land that was passed down to peasant communities after the Mexican Revolution.  It is typically agricultural type land and is akin to Indian Reservation land in the United States.  In the Mexico real estate region, Ejido properties are off limits to the foreign community, despite the fact that many have “purchased the rights to use” these properties through what is called a “prestanombre” (literally translated, lent name).

Scuba diving in Mahahual, Chinchorro Banks & the pesky Lion Fish

Thomas Lloyd

Before starting my career in the Costa Maya real estate industry, my first trip to Mahahual was with my husband, and the sole purpose was to go scuba diving in Chinchorro Banks, a pristine coral atoll located 28 miles or 45 kms off the coast. Both being diving instructors and working in Cozumel at the time, we had heard so much about this magical place and were looking forward to going.

Yucatan Real Estate – Opportunities in Up-and-Coming Campeche

Posted by Thomas Lloyd in yucatan real estate , Mexico Real Estate , mexico land , living in mexico , Campeche real estate

Thomas Lloyd

A dream for many of us is to own a piece of Yucatan Real Estate, which has been made famous through images of luxury condos on Cancun's beachfront or a beautiful villa in Playa del Carmen. Many people also know about Merida's colonial Historic Center, or the nearby beachfront property available in the nearby Progreso. The Yucatan Peninsula is rich in many real estate options. But one market which is just now being discovered is the Campeche Real Estate area, where there is some excellent Mexico Land available at very reasonable prices for those who want to build their own personalized dream home on the beachfront.

Puerto Vallarta Real Estate - Top Choice for Lifestyle and Luxury

Posted by Thomas Lloyd in Untagged

Thomas Lloyd

In Puerto Vallarta, the main industry and determining factor of the city's lifestyle is international tourism. For Puerto Vallarta Real Estate this means that you as buyers enjoy tourism infrastructure at its best – excellent roads, a variety of oceanfront activities among other activities and events, top-of-the-line health care, international stores, and much more. For this reason Puerto Vallarta Condos and villas have been a long standing favorite for American and Canadian buyers; together with the year-round warm climate, the Puerto Vallarta Beachfront Condo lifestyle offers an appeal that few other places in the world offer. For 2010, the good news is that tourism numbers are showing promise of surpassing numbers from 2008, showing quick, resilient recovery from the world-wide recession.
