Living in Los Cabos: What I Did On My Summer Vacation

Well, not really, but I’ve taken a few weeks off from blogging to concentrate on a fun, fun, fun new project with two good friends. We were keeping it a secret, but we’re at the point where we can share it with the world. TA DAH!!

We started a radio station! There is a real radio station in Los Cabos, called Cabo Mil, which has minimal English language content, but for the most part Gringos in Cabo are out of luck for radio. Worse, there are so many Cabo aficionados up there in the Frozen Tundra who’d love to know what’s going on in their favorite place, but no way to find out. So we fixed that. We’re now streaming 24/7 from the best place on earth with a mix of happy music, accurate weather and news, fish and dive reports, and any little piece of gossip we might want to pass along. So our friends who can only visit a few times a year can stay in the loop and locals can finally have a reliable source of news. And it’s so easy to tune in: just go to http://www.livecabo.net.

Now remember, we’re not professional broadcasters. So while the news and weather will be accurate, we’re not the polished professionals you’ll find on commercial stations. We might stumble over an occasional word or two, but we’re sincere. We’d like to know what you think, or if there’s a song you’d like to hear, or a question we can answer. How do you reach us? Just shout out. How, you ask? When you’re on the station’s main page on the left you’ll see the album art for whatever song we’re playing. Below that you’ll see a picture of the arch. Look carefully, and you’ll see a tool bar running along the top of that photo. The far right icon, which kind of looks like a cartoon talk balloon, is the shout out box. Just click on it to send the broadcast team a message. If it’s a song request, and the song is available for streaming, we’ll get it on the air. If it’s a dedication (remember those? We do!) or question we can answer on air we’ll do that too. Anything else we’ll send you a personalized answer.
