It might sound the same but they are two different food serving. Both are two of Belizeans daily special and both are very delicious. The difference is that one the rice is cooked mix with the beans, which is the rice and beans, and the other the beans is placed over the rice when served.
The Rice and Beans is cooked with coconut milk some chopped onions but really fine, salt, a ½ cup stewed beans per pound of rice and a little black pepper all together. Likewise, the White is cook with the same ingredients the exception is that the stewed bean is not added to the rice while cooking. The Beans is place over the rice after the serving of rice is on the plate. Both are served with either chicken, beef or pork and a side of salad and fried plantains.

When coming to Belize it would be great for you to try these delicious meals. Rice and Beans and the White Rice and Stewed Beans go great with and side of meat, but my personal favorite is Rice and Beans with stewed chicken and White Rice and Stewed Beans with Stewed Beef.
