While the economy is still struggling, there has been an increasing amount of optimism brewing. A new report released last month shows us that there is indeed a light at the end of the tunnel - 86 percent of economists polled said they believe the recession will end this year. The U.S. economy is on track to emerge from recession in the second half of 2009 as consumer spending and the housing sector make a come-back, according to a Blue Chip Economic Indicators Survey released last month.
The survey of private economists showed that 86 percent of respondents believed the economic downturn would be declared as over in the second half of the year, according to a report by Reuters. However, the survey also predicted a continued rise in unemployment lasting well into 2010.
