-Market 'Feel'  PMA

Things here are pretty optimistic and no doubt that a "PMA",  Positive Mental Attitude, is a very important factor. The world economy and the political situation dampened the enthusiasm that was prevalent here for the past decade, but overall most people here are pretty upbeat. It is pretty hard not to be actually. The sand is still white, water is still aqua blue, the weather is warm and sunny, the people are still as friendly as ever and economically the island will do well this coming year. The losses that were experienced due to the economic and political situation this year will fade. You only need to look at the expansion of the Royal Caribbean cruise ship
dock and the opening, on November 20th this year, of the new Carnival Cruise Line port to see how life can spring right back to normal.

Purchase real estate abroad in your IRA

Your IRA CAN buy real estate Abroad!
If you are looking at real estate abroad, or for a way to get better returns in your IRA, here is little secret your stock broker will never tell you about.. The IRS lets you purchase real estate with income that is tax-deferred. That means that many savvy investors are investing their IRA funds in real estate. This is a great way to beat the ups and downs in the stock market, to diversify your portfolio or to provide a stable income as you transition from riskier investments.

How Can You Do This?
The rules governing the ownership of real estate abroad this way are simple. First, you may purchase practically any real estate you can imagine: raw land, condos, office buildings, single or multi-family homes, apartment buildings and improved land. You can also own a fraction of real estate, with other entities or investors owning other fractions. You can purchase an option on the real estate or you can buy outright using a land trust, L.L.C., or similar entity. Also, you can rollover your IRA, so you are buying the real estate with retirement assets.

Boomers Abroad

BoomersAbroad.com was born in direct response to hundreds of conversations with baby boomers from the USA and Canada who were seeking a new life, and to better understand how they might live abroad, travel abroad, relocate abroad, retire abroad and/or invest abroad. Leading industry experts and many of those who have journeyed ahead will share their personal experiences and knowledge in a great variety of areas.

Boomers Living Abroad

The number of Americans and Canadians living abroad, by today's count approximately 7 million (according to The Washington Post), is twice the population of Chicago and greater than that of 33 U.S. States. A number that has grown steadily over the past decade, and it is expected to more than double within ten years. In the next 20 years, 100 million baby boomers, from the USA and Canada, are going to retire. Five million baby boomers turn age 60 each year, Ten Thousand per day, Eight per minute, and scores of them are purchasing property abroad as vacation homes or investment homes. Naturally, many of them are auditioning these homes for potential primary retirement residences.
