Morelia

Where is morelia Morelia and all of Michoacan sit in the land of intense beauty.  The name of this gem came from the way the Spaniards translated the original Nauhuatl name Mechuacan (meaning “place of the fishermen.”)  The entire state is full of lush green fields, flowering shrubs, and plants, lakes, rivers, and rolling hills. The lush green valleys are caused by the volcanic mountain range it sits in. The state has a setting much like that of Hawaii, especially the coastal region.

Morelia is surrounded by towns and villages that have remained much the same as they were in the 1800´s.  The atmosphere is altfriendly and peaceful. The city itself is a mixture of both Spanish and indigenous heritage.
