A day Trip to Todos Santos

Todos Santos Baja Mexico

altTodos Santos History
This small town was established back in 1723 by Jaime Bravo, when the mission of Nuestra Señora de Pilar was founded and used to replace the mission at la Paz, which was closed for a lack of water.  In 1749 the mission was reopened in La Paz.

Transportation to the area was difficult at best until the late 80´s, when Hwy 19 was finished.  Now it is the fastest route to get from La Paz to Cabo San Lucas.  As of now the community has a population of a little over 5,000 people with about 800 of those being foreigners.

The changing seasons in Baja rains bring the green of the desert

By Baja Insider at Ventana Magazine

The rains on October & November bring the green back to the deserts of Baja Sur. Within days, the thirsty flora of our desert peninsula has began to take on shades of green. Soon the entire desert will be in bloom and a jaunt to the vast open areas of Baja Sur will be well worth a photo-safari.

This is late in the season for Baja to receive its first significant rain of the year. Without another significant rainfall 2009 will be considered a drought year. Nation-wide this has been the driest year in Mexican recorded weather history.

But the rain we did receive will cause the cactus to swell with the intake of fresh water and soon the beautiful blooms of the San Miguel will add yellows and reds to the desert pallet.

Boomers Abroad

BoomersAbroad.com was born in direct response to hundreds of conversations with baby boomers from the USA and Canada who were seeking a new life, and to better understand how they might live abroad, travel abroad, relocate abroad, retire abroad and/or invest abroad. Leading industry experts and many of those who have journeyed ahead will share their personal experiences and knowledge in a great variety of areas.

Boomers Living Abroad

The number of Americans and Canadians living abroad, by today's count approximately 7 million (according to The Washington Post), is twice the population of Chicago and greater than that of 33 U.S. States. A number that has grown steadily over the past decade, and it is expected to more than double within ten years. In the next 20 years, 100 million baby boomers, from the USA and Canada, are going to retire. Five million baby boomers turn age 60 each year, Ten Thousand per day, Eight per minute, and scores of them are purchasing property abroad as vacation homes or investment homes. Naturally, many of them are auditioning these homes for potential primary retirement residences.
