altThis is the largest of several hundred cayes, or islands that are in the northern part of Belize, Central America.  This may seem like a minute location, but it is just a little bit of paradise engulfed in the azure waters of the Caribbean. It is about 36 miles long and at one time was part of the Yucatan Peninsula.  There is a current resident population of about 7,000 and the town sits in the middle of tropical savannahs, lagoons, and mangrove forests, while on the other side there are sparkling white beaches, and beautiful communities. This is fast becoming Belize’s top tourist destination.
