San Salvador is the capital of the nation of El Salvador. It is the second most populous city in Central America. The origins of the city can be traced to before the Spanish conquest. The city’s altitude averages 560m (1,800 ft) above sea level located on a valley on the skirts of the Quezaltepec volcano or San Salvador. The valley got its nickname from the Spaniards who called the area “El Valle de las Hamacas” (The Valley of the Hammocks) due to its constant seismic activity.

Location
San Salvador is located in the center of the country in a valley near the base of the San Salvador volcano.

The downtown area is filled with shops and modern buildings. The people of San Salvador are generally friendly. San Salvador’s climate is tropical. San Salvador has many beautiful monuments, some dating back to the early 20th century. Some of the most important to see: National Palace, Plaza Gerardo Barios, Plaza Morazán, Water Clock, Monument To The Sea, and more.

A number that has grown steadily over the past decade, and it is expected to more than double within ten years. In the next 20 years, 100 million baby boomers, from the USA and Canada, are going to retire. Five million baby boomers turn age 60 each year, Ten Thousand per day, Eight per minute, and scores of them are purchasing property abroad as vacation homes or investment homes. Naturally, many of them are auditioning these homes for potential primary retirement residences.
