2009 AMAR International Conference in Mexico City

2009 AMAR International Conference September 10th, 11th and 12th, Mexico City.

AMAR – (Mexican Association of Retirement Communities) is the first non-profit organization committed to creating a sustainable future for senior housing communities in Mexico through providing education, lobbying efforts, promotional events and networking opportunities for the benefit of those who have an interest in this dynamic industry.
AMAR was founded on February 20, 2007 to address the demographic trends in the generation of 76 million Baby Boomers who are retiring in the next few years and set the standard of excellence for the services which are required to meet the needs of this new generation of retirees. We are excited to be an on the leading edge of igniting the tremendous potential of the Senior Housing and Care industry, from 50+ Active Adult Communities, to Independent Living, and Assisted Living communities in Mexico. Our goal is to help members develop their businesses through education, research, information, deal making and action on legislation and regulation. As a member-driven association, AMAR offers a chance for you to lead the way through committee participation in virtually any area or program activity. You'll have access to industry leaders and professionals who make this dynamic industry a success!

AMAR undertook its first major event, 2B Alive Independent & Assisted Living Quality of Life Summit & Expo, in May 2008 in La Jolla, California, USA and has participated actively in both domestic and other events in the United States and Canada.

We are now proud to announce that AMAR will conduct its first convention in Mexico City, DF, September 10th, 11th and 12th, 2009. To help you to learn of the products, services and latest technology necessary to operate these communities we are pleased to be able to count on the presence of industry leaders from Mexico, the United States and Canada as of some of our sponsors and members who will be contributing their knowledge and expertise as part of our educational program in panels and conferences at the event.

I encourage you to join with the top industry executives, entrepreneurs, developers, investors and service providers in key industries from Mexico and abroad in order to discuss, build and integrate attractive proposals for retirees in Mexico. Together we will share information with all those interested in the topic of retirement communities, on how investment in this industry can be funneled to Mexico and provide the opportunity to establish contacts for new business relationships.

The 2009 AMAR International Conference in Mexico City will also be the place where you will be introduced to and personally meet the governing board of AMAR that will lead the association during the next year.

I want to thank in advance all the people who are working together to carry out this event and welcome their participation and attendance at this historic first AMAR International Conference.

Sincerely,
Lic. Javier Godínez Villegas
Founder and Chairman of AMAR

Boomers Abroad

BoomersAbroad.com was born in direct response to hundreds of conversations with baby boomers from the USA and Canada who were seeking a new life, and to better understand how they might live abroad, travel abroad, relocate abroad, retire abroad and/or invest abroad. Leading industry experts and many of those who have journeyed ahead will share their personal experiences and knowledge in a great variety of areas.

Boomers Living Abroad

The number of Americans and Canadians living abroad, by today's count approximately 7 million (according to The Washington Post), is twice the population of Chicago and greater than that of 33 U.S. States. A number that has grown steadily over the past decade, and it is expected to more than double within ten years. In the next 20 years, 100 million baby boomers, from the USA and Canada, are going to retire. Five million baby boomers turn age 60 each year, Ten Thousand per day, Eight per minute, and scores of them are purchasing property abroad as vacation homes or investment homes. Naturally, many of them are auditioning these homes for potential primary retirement residences.
