A recent article in the Financial Times recently highlighted Mexico's record-breaking number of international tourists in December 2011, and confidently stated that Mexico's tourism sector "has never been stronger."
According to figures published by the tourism ministry, 1,072,180 foreign tourists visited Mexico in December 2011, 13 percent more than during December 2010. These 1 million visitors marked the highest figure ever recorded for the month of December, and represented the fifth consecutive month of increased tourism over the same month in 2010. MORE...

As of September 25th, 2011, new regulations were established for the foreigners to enter Costa Rica.
1. Visas:
Countries are classified in 4 groups. Depending on the group that you belong to, you may or may not need a visa to enter the country. For example, citizens of the United States, Canada, Mexico, Spain, Great Britain, Germany, etc. belong to group number 1.
Visitors from these countries may enter the country without an entry visa, provided that their stay is no longer than 90 days. (Please consult Annex 1 to know whether a visa is required or no).
2. Passport or travel documentation:
If you are a visitor from the United States, Canada, Mexico, or belong to a country from group 1 and 2, your passport must be valid for a minimum of 3 months.
If you are a visitor from a country in group 3 or 4, your passport must be valid for a minimum of 6 months, except in cases where there is prior written consent between Costa Rica and the departure country contrary to that established.

Mexico is ranked second in Latin America in terms of high-technology product exports, given that 17% of the total sales of manufactured products abroad have a high added value, according to the World Bank.
Mexico’s auto parts industry grew by 13%, generating 65 billion dollars and creating 600,000 jobs in 2011, informed Oscar AlbÃn, president of the National Auto Parts Industry (INA). Between January and November 2011 alone, the country exported auto parts to the US market for 33.046 billion dollars, 19.3% over 2010, when it recorded its maximum historical number, according to the US Department of Trade.
Mexico was one of the most dynamic countries in terms of sales from the automotive sector in 2011 –together with the United States, Taiwan, Russia and South Africa–, selling 905,866 units, a 10.4% increase compared to 2010, according to a global report by Barclays. During the same period, Mexico’s automotive industry produced two million 557 thousand 550 units, 13.1% over 2010, of which two million 143 thousand 879 were exported, informed the Mexican Association of the Automotive Industry (AMIA).
Sales of cars assembled in Mexico to Central and South America increased by 55.9% in 2011 compared to 2010, informed the AMIA.
