Many baby boomers are not interested in retirement. They’re always interested in building something.

The Panama City hotel market reached total inventory of 10,180 daily available rooms in 2011, following another strong year of new hotel openings, according to STR Global, the leading provider of market data to the hotel industry.
In the last seven years, Panama City rose as a strategic business hub between North and South America. Panama’s growing economy, boosted by the Panama Canal and free trade zone at Colon, helped attract investments and more visitors. International tourist arrivals, according latest figures from the World Tourism Organization, increased by 11.0 percent year to October 2011, driven by increased business trade and the ongoing construction work for the enlargement of the Panama Canal. The enlargement and further investments in infrastructure, real estate and tourism contributed positively to the local economy and particularly provided opportunities for new hotel developments.

The number of national and foreign tourists who visited Mexico in 2011 reached of close to 190 million, 3.7% over 2010, informed the Ministry of Tourism (SECTUR).
The US hotel chain AMResorts, will invest 400 million dollars in Mexico to open three new luxury hotels, two in Puerto Vallarta and one in Cancun.
The mining sector could invest close to four billion dollars in new projects, expansions, technology, training, environment and modernizations in 2012, similar to its investment in 2011, said the Mining Chamber of Mexico (CAMIMEX).
Mexico is among the top 10 car producing countries in the world. In 2011 alone, Mexico's car production increased by more than 13%, reaching close to 2.4 million units, according to a study by KPMG.
Volkswagen AG is considering Mexico as a potential location for its new Audi plant in North America given that the country offers import tariff exemption and one of the best locations for assembly plants (in the center of Mexico), said Michael Macht, manufacturing director of the German assembler.
Mexico has two of the most competitive automotive plants in North America: the Volkswagen plant in Puebla, which produced 510,051 vehicles in 2011, and the Nissan plant in Aguascalientes, which produced 360,796 units during the same year, according to a report by Wards Auto.
