7 Wonders For Sale

Investment Properties Mexico

Just imagine it.  A “For Sale” sign at Stonehenge?  Real Estate ads for the Pyramids?  MLS listings for Machu Picchu?  Would you be shocked?  Intrigued?  Would you secretly desire to own a piece of history? Would you want to buy some land and perhaps build a dream home next to one of the Seven Wonders of the World?

Well if so, you might want to quickly head down to Tulum, Mexico.

Approximately one hour south of Cancun, 30 minutes south of Playa del Carmen, lies what the LA Times called “A Technicolor Dream”, what Conde Nast Magazine proclaimed to be the “World’s Best Beach” and what the Mayan Kings simply named Tulum or Zama meaning the city of Dawn.  Simply put, Tulum is a Mayan Eden.

In November 2006 the American national newspaper USA Today in conjunction with the American television show Good Morning America revealed a list of New Seven Wonders.  The Mayan Ruins near Tulum were named #7.  For the first time in history some of this sacred Mayan Tulum Land is being titled and made available to purchase.

It is considered by the Financial Media to be some of the Hottest Real Estate in the World:

“Hottest of the Hot Spots” -USA Today

“Spain of 20 years ago” -London Financial Times (Wall St. Journal of England)

“Hottest section in Mexico” -Wall St. Journal

“A Gold Rush” -Travel and Leisure

A Protected, Finite and Scarce Opportunity

Tulum is the only Mayan city built on the Caribbean Sea.  It is a World Class Archeological and Environmental Park as well as a UNESCO World Heritage site that the Famed Green Peace Ship, “Moby Dick” sat off the coast to protect for 30 straight days just a few years ago.

Tulum is now its own municipality with a new mayor who is also a Tulum Land Owner, and is therefore rapidly developing new roads and infrastructure greatly accelerating the growth and value of the jungle land.  Tulum is also getting a new International Airport in 2012 that will service almost 1 million travelers in its first year alone.

Although Playa del Carmen, just north of Tulum, was listed as the Fastest Growing City in the World in 2006 by the Guinness Book of World Records, Tulum is projected to grow even faster.  Having learned from the over-development of Cancun and even Playa del Carmen, Tulum is said to be strictly protected against high density growth forever.

Although it will grow fast, Tulum land development must keep inline with the strict environmental laws put in place to preserve the precious ecology, which will in turn increase land scarcity and thus increase land values exponentially over time.

So whether you like it or not, for better or for worse, there is a new 7 Wonder for Sale on the sacred shores of the Yucatan Peninsula.  But you’d better hurry if you want to get a piece of Eden.

Boomers Abroad

BoomersAbroad.com was born in direct response to hundreds of conversations with baby boomers from the USA and Canada who were seeking a new life, and to better understand how they might live abroad, travel abroad, relocate abroad, retire abroad and/or invest abroad. Leading industry experts and many of those who have journeyed ahead will share their personal experiences and knowledge in a great variety of areas.

Boomers Living Abroad

The number of Americans and Canadians living abroad, by today's count approximately 7 million (according to The Washington Post), is twice the population of Chicago and greater than that of 33 U.S. States. A number that has grown steadily over the past decade, and it is expected to more than double within ten years. In the next 20 years, 100 million baby boomers, from the USA and Canada, are going to retire. Five million baby boomers turn age 60 each year, Ten Thousand per day, Eight per minute, and scores of them are purchasing property abroad as vacation homes or investment homes. Naturally, many of them are auditioning these homes for potential primary retirement residences.
