Posted by jennifer moore in Untagged

San Miguel de Allende Culture is immense and continuing. One of the events that most influences San Miguel de Allende culture is Semana Santa, or holy week. Semana Santa in San Miguel de Allende Culture includes 4 days of live theatre in the streets, where everyone in SMA participates, starting with the arrest of Jesus, and ending with dolls of Judas being blown up in the main square. Attending the funeral of Jesus in San Miguel de Allende is absolutely unforgettable! Semana Santa is followed by a second week of holidays for all schools in Mexico.

Everyone knows that San Miguel de Allende culture is very rich. This town played a major role in the independence of Mexico. The territory embracing what is now known as México was once one of the richest and most important colonies of Spain’s Kingdom. Under the name of the “New Spain” it was the main source of gold and silver for the Kingdom during the 400 years of Spaniard domination of this territory, contributing highly to the emergence of Spain as the great power of its time.

What do the Virgin Mary and The Rock Group the Doors Have in Common - Only in Mexico

Posted by jennifer moore in Untagged

While sometimes the lack of order and categorization can be frustrating in Mexico, images such as this help it all make sense. This is a truck window with equally prominent communication of both the Virgin Mary and The Doors. Really there is no reason why one should not equally believe in the power of the Virgin and the power of music, especially coming from an all-time classic band like The Doors. I myself believe in the power of a variety of things, from my lucky number and horoscopes to music, movement and positive thinking. This could be a totally new example of religious pluralism, mixing Catholicism with the holy spirit of rock and roll. I like it.

Travelling is just as safe or safer than it was twenty years ago. You can find all kinds of driving directions from USA to Mexico, and there are maps all along the way. The best place to start is with Google Maps. Then like now there have been sudden pull over areas where the military controls look {guns and any illegal or suspicious looking movement of goods or vehicles. We were from one colonial village to another with Canadian plates, often just the two of us. Today there are many rest stops with famous American fast food restaurants and attendants who speak English who are willing to give you Driving directions USA to Mexico.

From our own experience we can attest to the fact that for the past 20 years and currently in Mexico the very friendly routine you will definitely be searched at certain points along the highway and you will find these stop points impossible to avoid. Freeways that are toll roads and frequented by tourists are also regularly patrolled by very well equipped "green angels" who cruise the major routes looking for any tourists who might need their free assistance, either for directions, car trouble or any concerns along the way. They will fix a flat tire quickly and send you on your way at no charge. If you have it a cool drink or a little money of thanks is always welcome as all these employees are very underpaid! Driving directions from USA to Mexico are extremely easy as all the toll roads are simple to drive and there are no high rivers to cross, pot holes, or other problems as there were some twenty years ago. Indigenous Cultures of Mexico and the Traditional Rebozos

An important part of the indigenous cultures of Mexico , are the traditional rebozos (shawls). These are worn by the women strolling across the small Michoacán plaza, matched by the bright confetti showering their coffee-coloured hair, festively completed with their lime green, burnt orange, and ocean-tinted skirts.

As I watched, while local villagers danced to the music of a live band, a young woman adjusted her hair over an aqua blue rebozo, and spoke to a friend draped in a vivid purple piece over a yellow blouse and pink skirt. Meanwhile, a young girl pulled a small boy along while carrying a load of belongings in the cobalt-blue shawl over her back.
