There is a small Central American Nation that has a lot in common with the Caribbean, and is certainly a new hot spot. It has certainly been making headlines around the world in travel articles. So many people from all over the world primarily Canada, United States, Europe and the UK are choosing to purchase a retirement home, second home or invest in property in this small nation.

One of the reasons so many choose this country is because it's the only English speaking Central American country, which makes communicating with the locals easy and also facilitates your move. If you are wondering which country we are talking about you have to wait no longer. This country with so much beauty packed within its borders is most certainly, Belize.

Belize offers a diverse landscape. If you are looking for beachfront properties, private islands, farm lands or a secluded jungle home in the rainforests or mountains, look no further than Belize. You can choose to live in the city or in the rural areas. You will find that the real estate prices vary depending on the area that you choose. You will find that the prices in Belize City, Consejo Shores, San Pedro - Ambergris Caye and Placencia are generally higher than those in the rural areas of Belize.

The world's economy has certainly affected Belize, and since the start of the economic downturn, Belize has seen  as much as 30-35% depreciation in real estate values in some areas. This makes Belize the real hot spot of Central America and the Caribbean when it comes to purchasing real estate. It has become a real buyer's market with prices certainly being negotiable. We have seen rare discounts by as much as 50% on some land and homes. Comparing Belize's prices to that of the United States or Europe, Belize prices are still relatively low. Therefore, Belize is an excellent location for investment.

The Government of Belize as Well as the Belize Tourism Board has been promoting Belize, not only as a vacation destination, but offering Belize as Retirement Destination for expats to purchase a primary residence, second home or vacation home. For those that will be retiring in Belize, they can certainly take advantage of the Qualified Retirement Program (QRP Program) which offers tax benefits to retirees.

If you are considering making the move to Belize or investing in real estate in this small Central American and Caribbean nation be sure to do all the necessary research or talk to a Belize Relocation Consultant about areas that would be most desirable to you.

Belize is a small, unspoiled Central American country located on the Western Caribbean coast nestled between Mexico and Guatemala and kissed on her shores by the jeweled waters of the Caribbean Sea. Belize is fast becoming a world renowned destination for tourists and international investors alike. Belize is considered by many of our local and international real estate clients to be the most beautiful and undiscovered spot ideal for vacation and retirement that allows them to enjoy the unique cultural diversity of a Latin American as well as a Caribbean Country, or a place to call HOME. Belize is the ONLY English speaking Central American country due to the historical influences of the British Buccaneers and Colonialists that settled in the country for over a century. It is home to a multi-cultural society made up of Creole, Mestizo, East Indian, Chinese, Lebanese, Garifuna, Maya, and Mennonites just to name a few. Belize's population of approximately 300,000 is a diverse cultural mix of languages and ethnic groups. It is a country rich in culture and tradition and rooted in common beliefs of working together for a strong economy. The Belizean people are very friendly and a simple hello and smile is given everywhere you go no matter who you are or what you do.
Belize consists of approximately 8,866 square miles of land mass and is dotted with 266 square miles of offshore islands. This juxtaposition offers a unique perspective that appeals to everyone from the eco-tourist to the avid water sportsman. People that visit Belize keep coming back to immerse themselves in the rich cultural diversity and the well preserved forests and barrier reef that we call paradise. People enjoy soaking in the cool azure Caribbean waters; taking day trips to its world renowned fishing grounds; snorkeling preservation sites; diving the Great Blue Hole and surrounding waters or taking a hike in the lush protected rain forests that keep the country so serene and steeped in nature. Spelunkers also enjoy the challenge and privilege of being among the few to explore our vast networks of cave systems many of which remain untouched and unexplored. Belize is known for its high concentration of Mayan Temples and meandering rivers - not to mention the exotic wildlife and pristine tropical forests. Inland Belize is a treasure trove of Mayan archaeological temples and ceremonial sites, some of which have remained undiscovered in the jungles for hundreds if not thousands of years. Belize can boast to having the largest unbroken barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere that is also a World Heritage Site, the largest interconnected Cave System in Central America, the only Jaguar Reserve in the entire world, and more than 500 species of birds guaranteed to intrigue bird watchers or nature lovers alike. Belize truly is an Adventurer's Paradise. The pristine offshore waters of Belize nurture the beautiful crystalline white sandy beaches and is the natural habitat of a wide and diverse marine life ecosystem. Divers, snorkelers, marine biologists, and fishermen have come to recognize Belize as one of the best water-sport destinations in the world. Belize is also praised for its dedication to conservation and preservation of the natural environment.
The preservation of such beautiful places in Belize is essential for generations to enjoy even after we move on and leave our legacy behind.

The other day we headed out Barton Creek to my friends property to check it out.  At first I was a little curious as to why my friend Mike bought a property a few miles away from town; but as we drove there I found out why.  Driving towards Barton Creek all the way to his property was a site you must see. At every turn you could see peeking hills fill with a diverse blanket of colors of green on all the hills and valleys of the golden oranges orchard in Cool Shade. Cool Shade is a Mennonite community of farmers who work and live there. Further in, Mennonite family community was more visual. You could see the men farming, women working and some children helping others playing. All of them were wearing their traditional clothes and was unique to see that they are still Mennonites that keep their traditions and culture alive.

Central America bets on Russian tourism

Posted by Real Estrategy in Real Estrategy , Nicaragua , Honduras , Guatemala , El Salvador , Central America

Real Estrategy
ANTIGUA, Guatemala (MCT) – As the tourism sector recovers from last year’s freefall, industry leaders from Guatemala to Panama are starting to look beyond the slumping Western economies that caused the crisis and market themselves to Russia in an attempt to tap a new source of wealthy tourists. Boomers in Guatemala
And judging by the record turnout of Russian tour operators at last week’s Central America Travel Market (CATM) in Guatemala, the budding interest is mutual. “Central America is an interesting and unknown market for Russian tourists,” said Evgeny Zhukov, director of Avisenta Travel Company in St. Petersburg, Russia. “I have clients who have already seen many other parts of the world and they want to open new horizons.”

Zhukov, one of eight Russian tour operators to participate in CATM this year, says Russia, with a population of 142 million, has a large market of wealthy people who like to travel. While Russian tourists typically visit countries along the Mediterranean, Zhukov said there is a new interest in unexplored destinations on the other side of the world. And he thinks that Central America, with its Maya culture, sunshine and white-sand beaches, could become an interesting destination to sell to his high-end clientele. “I have clients who are cultured, well-read and want to see the world with their own eyes,” Zhukov told The Nica Times, speaking Spanish fluently. “These are people with lots of money; they are the privileged class, not the middle class. And it’s a big market.”
