Hello, I hope I followed the right link. Thanks so much for your offer of help. Our situation is we are in our late fifties and after 40 years of hard work we are ready to relax and meet new people and take a leap into a new culture. We need to know about cost of living, long term rentals (weht we can get for how much) My wife and I have had a pretty good life and are now used to soe of the luxuries in life. We prefer a house 2-3 bedrooms, maybe a pool. I am wondering what to expect in your area as well as puerto vallera area. A luxury condo would suite her fine I think. I am a retired auto worker and my pension is around $2000 a month. I would expect to pay $800 to $1000 for a rental long term. I am looking and nearly everything is furnished and she has a problem with that, also we are dog lovers and have a weimeraner that is part of our family. Am I just dreaming or can we find what we are looking for and survive with that amount? Thanks for your help and we expect to take a trip your way in the next 3 months.

Don and Linda, Thanks for the email. I have tried to send you a message but for some reason, it will not let me, so maybe you will see this. I am seriously considering a job offer in Puebla, and have a few questions I'd love to ask you. I lived many years in France and Spain, but never in Mexico. Thanks, Kathy

Boomers Abroad

BoomersAbroad.com was born in direct response to hundreds of conversations with baby boomers from the USA and Canada who were seeking a new life, and to better understand how they might live abroad, travel abroad, relocate abroad, retire abroad and/or invest abroad. Leading industry experts and many of those who have journeyed ahead will share their personal experiences and knowledge in a great variety of areas.

Boomers Living Abroad

The number of Americans and Canadians living abroad, by today's count approximately 7 million (according to The Washington Post), is twice the population of Chicago and greater than that of 33 U.S. States. A number that has grown steadily over the past decade, and it is expected to more than double within ten years. In the next 20 years, 100 million baby boomers, from the USA and Canada, are going to retire. Five million baby boomers turn age 60 each year, Ten Thousand per day, Eight per minute, and scores of them are purchasing property abroad as vacation homes or investment homes. Naturally, many of them are auditioning these homes for potential primary retirement residences.
